I keep coming back to the whole gizmoplex service idea. It just seems like they are way underestimating the costs and effort needed for it to work as envisioned, while overestimating the subscriber base it will attract. 12 new shows won't be much good if there is no where to see them if the gizmoplex fails.

Lets hope that most of the live events won't be when a good part of the west coast is not home from work yet.

I would think that right now is very similar to when MST3K started. Instead of cable channels needing content it is streaming platforms. Lots of opportunities for a show to get picked up. The one drawback for MST3K is that there is no chance of it being that big breakout show that could really boost subscriptions.

Good luck getting a streaming service with one show on roku, fire tv, or apple tv devices.

Know it won't happen, but how fun would a special surprise christmas episode with Kinga and Max in the theater be.

I hope they don't do plan 9. They choose not to originally for sound reasons. From the MST3K FAQ on satellite news;
Q: So how come they didn't do "Plan 9 From Outer Space," which is touted the worst movie ever made?
A: BBI said that they did not want to do this movie for several reasons. First, the voice-over from Criswell would interfere with the commenting that Joel/Mike and the 'bots would make. Second, making fun of this movie is just too easy. Everybody has done it. The Brains would prefer fresh territory. Third, it's kind if redundant: The movie really makes fun of itself. Also, while "Plan 9" is certainly awful, MSTies know better than to think it is the worst movie ever made. MST3K has unearthed several cinematic train wrecks that make it look like "Citizen Kane."

One thing to remember is that the kickstarter campaign funded most if not all of the production costs, and netflix was just the distributor for season 11.

If they are going to have the premise of having to do the opening "live" for every episode they should actually film a different sequence for each episode, or at least change sections (other than the background during robot roll call) that make each episodes opening unique. This is what I was expecting when the premise was introduced. Otherwise why bother.

Saw this Saturday night at a live screening hosted by Jonah, Baron and Hampton. What a blast. First time seeing MST3K as part an audience and really enjoyed the experience. The crowd was great. The crew did a Q&A after the show and you can see that they really have a good chemistry together. Hope we get some more seasons because these guys are ready.

Trying to take my time with 1 or 2 a week now, but we'll see how that goes. What a great episode. Needed a fix of good ol 70's cheeze, and this did not disappoint. Overall I am really enjoying the fresh and new, yet also old and comfortable feel of the show. To me it just feels right.

Two things I think would be fun to see happen in season 12.
1. Commercials when they go to the breaks. These could be either fake ones made just for the show, or real ones (like the stranger things riff). The crew riff on them because they have to watch them too. The fake commercials could be produced by people outside the show even. Funny or die, Key and Peele, SNL, Kids in the Hall,etc. Sort of like a guest appearance.
2. Gypsy in the theater more (gasp). When I was a kid a friend and I would watch Doctor Who. His sister said she did not like the show and would make fun of us for liking it. Then while we were watching she would keep walking by, catching bits here and there til she ended up standing next to the TV watching large portions of the show. They could do this with gypsy, where she ends up hanging around and watching more of the movie. This would also allow for riffs from a female perspective. In CT having Mary Jo allowed them to do this and I think it was a benefit to the show.

Agree they could throw in a B/W film or two without viewers leaving to never come back. Shame that they won't use anything non-HD. I bet there are many more Master Ninja, Riding with Death, and SST Death Flights out there that would be perfect.
