I hope nobody minds me bumping this topic, but I feel the need to add to it. I'm a pretty new fan of the show and have been trying to obtain the best possible copies of each episode that I can. Due to the earliest releases having gone out of print, I've picked up most of the Shout Select re-issues to cover for some of them and I can confirm that nearly all of them have restored much of the missing material from the older releases:
320 - The Unearthly: The "Turn Down Your Lights" sign is intact and the entire episode looks just fine.
424 - Manos the Hands of Fate: The 2-disc re-issue restores the "Show 424, Reel 1" title card and all the missing bumpers. I believe there are some tape hits present on this version that weren't on the previous two releases, but it isn't too distracting as far as I'm concerned.
511 - Gunslinger: I haven't watched this one all the way through yet, but the Shout re-issue restores the "Show 511, Reel 1" title card. I believe there were also some bumpers cut on the old release on Vol. 6 (which I own), and I assume these have all been restored as well.
515 - The Wild World of Batwoman: This isn't supposed to be out until this Tuesday but Shout has already begun shipping this and their re-issue of Girl in Gold Boots. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as if anything has been restored for this release (I haven't watched this one all the way through yet either). The "Show 515, Reel 1" title card is still missing and I skipped ahead a bit and it looks like the bumpers are still missing as well. So this one doesn't appear to be any different from the old release from Rhino save for it's packaging. I'm guessing either Shout slipped up on this one or perhaps Jim Mallon doesn't have a good copy of the uncut episode anymore and this was their only alternative?
517 - Beginning of the End: Despite some tape hits being present that weren't on the old release (there's one or two that I recall being pretty bad on the new one), all of the bumpers have been restored.
518 - The Atomic Brain: The original release on Vol. 3 was pretty well known for missing it's stinger. Right before this one was re-released, Shout confirmed that it would finally be intact. Not only did they restore the stinger, but the "Show 518, Reel 1" title card and all of the missing bumpers have been restored as well.
619 - Red Zone Cuba: I'm actually not sure if there was anything missing from the original release. I know they stopped using those title cards before Season 5 ended, and the only thing I can imagine being missing from the Rhino single are some of the bumpers. The Shout re-issue has everything intact. There's some tape hits that may or may not have been present on the Rhino single, but I don't consider them too distracting. Can anybody who has the Rhino single tell me if it's fine?
