I can be a bit literal, so apologies if this is the case here... Some folks are referring to the campaign with the pronoun "we". Is anyone here actually on staff? Or is just analagous to similar refs one might make to one's favorite sports team? I do it mostly out of habit. I'm certainly not on staff. I think your sports team analogy is a good explanation.

Kicktraq has us at 33,000 for the day. I know some people dropped their pledges. I noticed at one point we were down like 2000 dollars compared to the previously recorded hour on Kicktraq. Hopefully we do better in the final days.

According to Kicktraq, we did 62,000 for the day. I hope we pick up a lot on Monday. Sundays usually don't do so well.

At least one announcements will be bot related. Joel answered a question about Cambot on Twitter:

With the add-on extras, we're at about 3.9 million. We did about 90K today according to Kicktraq, but the update came late in the day. Hopefully the bump from the update carries over into tomorrow.

I wonder if one of the big tiers was taken again. We've jumped 20K within the last hour.

So this is the new cast? I have to say the voices are growing on me.

So Joel just sent out another update. There's nothing about KTMA, but he does talk a bit about bringing the original cast and crew back:
"Finally: I've started reaching out to all of the original cast to make formal offers. I can’t share specifics, but Shout Factory has been working with me to figure out how we can make it work for everyone.
Before you ask, I don't know who will decide to come back and who won't. Some of them are busy with other projects, and a few of them have said they just don't feel like getting involved right now. Whatever they decide, I will respect their decision... but I'm hopeful that some of them will come back and join us. And if it doesn't happen now, maybe they'll come back in the future. The door will always be open."
He also says he's halfway done with the next update, and that could come as early as today.

It looks like we ended up with 140K for the day. Not bad considering there were no major announcements. Of course, that 25K pledge was a good chunk of it, and some of it was residual money from yesterday's big announcement.
By the way, Frank issued his most supportive statement yet on Twitter:

So Joel says he has "a few more surprises planned" and "more in the morning.". I hope they're wonderful surprises.

We must have had quite a bump in the last few hours. I didn't think we would hit 3.5 million today, but it looks like we will.

Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but I'll go with:
201- Rocketship X-M 418 - Attack of the The Eye Creatures 623 -The Amazing Transparent Man 704 - The Incredible Melting Man
Really I'd be happy with any of these, but I hope we eventually get Attack of the The Eye Creatures because it's one of my personal favorites.

Here's an interesting article by Patton Oswalt that shows off his pop-culture riffing / geek chops. www.wired.com/2010/12/ff_angrynerd_geekculture/It's actually an interesting article (until he goes off the rails at the end). I've had similar thoughts myself, and it's also pertinent to how an MST3K show will be a little different in the modern age of the internet and mainstream geek. I know it isn't a film, but he has a very funny bit on the song "Christmas shoes". He analyzes the song's lyrics and makes snarky commentary about it, which is reminiscent of MST3K.

Even if the revival completely sucks, and I have a hard time believing it will with the talent involved, I can still go back and rewatch the original series without even having to think about the revival. The difference for me between this and the Star Wars prequels is that the events of the prequels are alluded to in the original trilogy. I can't go back and watch the original trilogy without hearing something that reminds me of Attack of the Clones or The Phantom Menace. Because the revival is a sequel of sorts, I won't have the same problem with the original MST3K.
