I'm definitely liking it. This bat segment is hilarious.

I believe in one of my brackets I was ranked in the 4.6th percentile among all brackets after the first day. Yeah, 4.6.

Well, that's three-fifths of the field down and out, and it looks like Mr. A is about to pull it off. Again. There's apparently no stopping him.

I don't know where everyone else is shopping, but my digital antenna was 20 bucks. Now that I could live with. Gonna have to look around a bit more. There's time.

OK, the Sweet 16 picks up tonight. I still actually have three of my Final Four still left alive, so that's a positive, anyway.
Been a fun tournament. Mercer. North Dakota State. Dayton. And a few really competitive games. Not bad at all.
Continued luck, all.

...and the irony is, I have DirecTV and can't get it without an antenna, which I just can't bring myself to shell out for despite missing the airing of my favorite show... because according to a quick look into broadcast TV antenna for my TV, it would cost around $100. So, great news for MST3k, but poopie for me. Looking closer now I see that's going to be a problem for me, too. I didn't bother getting a digital antenna when the broadcast stations switched to digital as I just switched over to full digital cable, and I'm not shelling out $100 for one for just one show, even if it is MST3K. It's too bad, too. Would have been fun to see it on television again.

Wow, that's surprising. Gotta be the first time the show has been back on broadcast since the MST Hour, correct? Surprisingly, I seem to be right on the edge of one of their broadcast areas. Will have to look for them. For reference, here's a list of their affiliates: www.myretrotv.com/affiliates--schedules.htmlPretty good mix of early and late episodes, too. Not the greatest episodes of all time, in my opinion, but a good variety in terms of timeline. Will have to remember to check this out.

Agree with the bland chicken part, but I won't go as far as stringy Enjoyed it but it's obviously the lull before whatever the hell they're going to do with the last episode of the season. People are gonna die, I'm guessing.

And we're off! Only five of us this year. That's a 20 percent chance of winning, all brackets being equal

My understanding is "Joel Vs. Mike" threads are okay, as long as there isn't an over abundance of them (one thread every 4 or 5 months for example), and as long as there isn't any heated arguing. That's very possible, and maybe I spoke out of line. I honestly can't remember ever seeing a Joel vs. Mike thread on the board, though I'm sure there have been. And members around here aren't that prone to getting nasty about, well, anything really. It used to be such a charged, highly personal debate. Maybe that's not the case as much as it was before. Time changes everything, right? And again, didn't mean to come off so icy to you, Frosty. Now, back to your thread.

Yahoo used to be one of the easiest to set up, but they've upgraded or whatever they've done and it kind of sucks now. My yahoo e-mail doesn't work half the time either. Can't wait for the games!!! I've had my Yahoo email account since 1997 or 1998, and still use it as my regular email, so I try to stick with them. But, they're certainly not the only tournament game in town anymore. Onward. Been a couple years since I had to do a bracket without my beloved Indiana in the lineup, but they stunk pretty bad for most of the season. I mean, they didn't even make the flippin' NIT, for god's sake. Otherwise I'll be pulling for Nebraska and the other Big Ten teams. And while I hope to see certain teams fall short (Duke, Kentucky) I really want to see Wichita State lose. Not entirely sure they will, though, despite the tough draw they're going to get. They look awfully good.

That's a pretty rough topic for your first post, man. There's a reason you don't see much discussion of it around here. I understand that, and I'm sorry if that's a big no-no around these parts. Thank you for the link, Triple_sSs. Obviously it's a classic dead horse, just like any big x vs x in a fandom. Not trying to be a jerk, Frosty, and if the admins say it's cool and other members want to do it, by all means go for it. It's just always been a pretty taboo subject (for a long, long time, and not just for me). That said, this thread isn't locked yet, so maybe that's a sign of endorsement from the higher ups. And welcome to the board, by the way

No problem, Mr. A, glad you spoke up about it. And glad to hear it's working for everyone. I've informed via PM those that had already signed up for the previous bracket. I'm really disappointed in Yahoo. I've really come to champion them over the years during March Madness but I just can't abide that.
Now, on to the brackets!

OK, seeing as Yahoo has gone all intrusive with their tournament brackets, I've set up another pool at ESPN. games.espn.go.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/2014/en/group?groupID=520172Password: hikeeba! I haven't used ESPN in years, so I don't know how well it works, etc. If it tries to set you to receive texts from them, we can either just grit our teeth and bear it or we can just pack it in and not do it this year. Interest here is pretty marginal except for a few die hards, anyway (participation has been dwindling for years). ESPN did not do the texting thing to me when I formed the pool, so I assume it won't when other members join up. So we can switch to ESPN or stick with Yahoo. Or someone else can set us up someplace good. Let me know what you guys want to do.
