Well, guess we'll have to agree to disagree, TheNewMads. I thought it was one of the strongest episodes of the entire series. Hope you find something of value somewhere in tuning into the show every week, because you don't seem to be enjoying yourself much.

That's a pretty rough topic for your first post, man. There's a reason you don't see much discussion of it around here.

Man, I got it but I thought it only had to do with the pool owner. Now I'm hearing it's happening in a friend's pool, too.
You used the ID and password and it still wants to text you?
EDIT: OK, just checked and apparently it's something new this year that requires you to receive SMS messages from them initially, but you can reply STOP and it will apparently discontinue them. Either way, that's BS all around. Anyone else have another service they're already a part of that could maybe set something up on the quick? I'm not in a great position to do this at the moment.

I also enjoy some Flogging Molly. I don't think this one has been posted yet, but if it has, deal with it For my maternal great-grandmothers!

Yep, there goes another slice of my childhood. He was definitely a funny guy.
Rest well, sir.

I've been reading some viewers thought the latest episode crossed a line, but my god, I have to give the producers credit for having the balls to do an episode like that. That was terrifying and insanely sad. Uncomfortable. Powerful. Difficult.
Hell of an episode, TWD.

Interesting update, thanks, RAD! I've fallen so behind in my CT collection it's sad. It's too bad it looks grim for those releases, but at least those who could make those live shows will have a particularly special memory. Still hoping for a release of those two, but there are others I need to pick up, too, so I'll start with that

Should be based on the classic Thruster Buster, since Deep 13 spawned from Gizmonic, and you figure they'd be familiar with Gizmonic practices.
“A thick four-pound slice of our oven-tempered meal food, covered with a wet runny blister of growth compost, onions, lettuce, mayonnaise, tomato, special sauce, skanked while you sleep would you like fries with that?”
So, replace the meal food with ground beef and remove the growth compost and I think you have a non-evil version of the Thruster Buster, also known as the Big G.

Florida is hitting its stride right now, I agree. I'm interested to see who makes it from the Big Ten, but I think Michigan may be my dark horse pick this year. They have experience, having gone deep last year, even though they don't have the full contingent they did then.

EDIT: Unneeded reference to our old Yahoo pool. Everyone should be signing up with our ESPN pool now. Thanks!

NOTICE! This thread began with the intention of using the Yahoo! system for tournament pool management for our yearly board challenge, but after some concerns arose, we've decided to switch to an ESPN-run pool this year. You can still find the links to the previous pool and the new, current ESPN pool below. Anyone who has signed up for the Yahoo pool should switch over to the EPSN pool, as well should all new participants. Original and edited posts continue --- Greetings, all. It's that time of year again when we show our ignorance about the world of college basketball by filling out brackets for the 2014 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. I took the liberty of setting us up at Yahoo for our brackets this year: tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/quickenloansbracket/register/joingroupPool ID#: 58143 Password: hikeeba! Please let me know if you have any trouble joining up and I'll see if I can help. We can start selecting teams on Sunday, March 16, so we have a little time. All board members are encouraged to participate, even if you know absolutely nothing about college hoops. The more the merrier, and it might just help lessen the chances of Mr. A winning the thing for the umpteenth time. I'll see if Sky is interested in putting up a couple of episodes to the winner. Either way you can apparently win $1 billion with a perfect bracket, so why not? ------------ EDIT AGAIN (USE THIS POOL): Ok, there are some concerns with Yahoo's system, so I've set up another pool at ESPN. It did not appear to ask for any information in order to send me texts. If everyone wants to switch to that pool, that's fine, just sign up at the link below. I'll focus on whichever you guys want to go with. For reference, here's our alternative pool: ESPN Tournament ChallengePassword: hikeeba!

Actor, radio personality and game show host. Interesting guy, and a likeable host. LA Times articleBut here is where I knew him from. He's regarded as the best of two hosts of Starcade, the old arcade competition game show on WTBS circa 1982/83. For a little 80s goodness: Rest well, sir.

I'm with you, crowfan, I think they're awesome and fascinating machines. I learned to love them in the arcade, too. I guess they don't really qualify as cheap, but you can find many under $1,000 if you shop around a bit - and especially if you can buy one that's not working fully and fix it yourself.
These were all built as commercial grade machines, so the manufacturing quality is extremely good. And despite the collectors pushing prices up in general, you can still buy most for less than they were originally sold for back in the day. If I had to guess, my Rollergames probably retailed for between $3,000 and $4,000 new. I got it for about $800 and have less than $100 in parts in it.

great job, mod. those pics are cool - maybe because i never look at the "innards" of a pinball machine, but at first glance, those pics looked like either a futuristic world or the floor of a casino. i bet playing that first game after you finish a job like that is a total blast. Thanks, spice. It's quite a moment turning it back on for the first time. Lots of tension and then tension release as you see everything working like it should. As for playing, yeah, it's great, but difficult! Cleaned, waxed and tightened down it plays very different than it did. Faster, mostly. That's why these machines have lots and lots of replace value.
