So glad to hear things are moving along, thanks again Diet Kolos! Do we know for sure if this agreement will be for both the regular and MSTied versions of the films? I think it sounds likely that they will get the Hart titles, but it also sounds quite possible that it will only be available for a limited amount of time, like the Gamera set. So if you want it, and they announce it, don't wait too long! Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking! Very likely the MST versions will only be available for a brief time ala the Gamera set (looking even more brief than that!). I'm tempted to pick up 2 sets if/when it comes out just for safe keeping.

Updates on the Susan Hart v. Shout case. Susan filed a 3rd Stipulation to Continue on 1/3/20. In it, she says that the long-form settlement was nearly finalized (consummated) on Dec 9, but Shout wanted a 2-year license on physical releases, and both parties need more time to negotiate that part. Both parties agree they want to come to terms and reach an agreement, and wish for a continuance to Feb 14th. Judge entered order on Jan 7th. So this pretty much confirms it. Shout is PRECARIOUSLY close to cracking Susan. Wow! Thanks for the update, Diet Kolos! This is exciting news indeed.

I'm in-between "It was ok" and "I liked it." I echo others sentiments re: the piece-meal assembly line production. I don't think the cast was bad at all, they just never got the time to gel. Not having everyone in the same room to do the theater segments was a crime. I would have preferred a shorter season 11 honestly, that way more time could have been taken to get the "recipe" right. MST3k doesn't need artisan laser wood carvings and 3-d printing when some Tupperware, thrift store left-overs and hot glue would do just as well.
The live shows IMO have been wonderful, they feel more like the MST3k we know and love. A simple puppet show and a cheesey movie.
I am very curious to see where the next chapter of MST3k will take us. Hopefully the Netflix deal won't prevent them from shopping it around to another service (or prevent Shout from releasing their own direct-to-video eps).

Ok, I've FINALLY updated the list. It's reorganized and polished up a bit.
Even though Shout announced in 2017 they probably wouldn't be doing more sets, clearly they have the desire to release more. Sources indicate that at least the Olive Films titles licensed from Paramount should become available in the near future (or are already available). Assuming Olive doesn't renew their license, I think those 3 titles are close enough to "LIKELY" as we're going to get with the remaining unreleased episodes.
All of the new developments with the Shout Factory/Susan Hart settlement and recent rumors are looking promising for the remainder AIP titles. I'd err on the side of caution and say they're still unlikely but the situation is definitely looking up.

travis and everyone else - should this become a stream-likelihood thread too? Asking related to the twitch marathon and, well, Shout is really good at distribution, including Digital. To be honest, I'm not at all interested in what's available streaming. Unless previously-unavailable episodes or specials were somehow exclusively released to streaming I don't see going through the effort. My interest is purely home video releases (yes, I'm a physical media die-hard!) and researching that kind of stuff. Looks like there have been developments in Susan Hart's suit against Shout Factory, BallyHoo Motion Pictures, and Daniel Griffin. www.courtlistener.com/docket/14661252/susan-nicholson-hofheinz-v-shout-factory-llc/Diet Kolos, you have a Pacer account. You were able to access the court case documents earlier this year. What do the most recent documents say? EDIT: From the summaries posted about this case on other legal sites, it appears that Susan Hart made a settlement in the case, filed and announced on September 24 about. This timeline lines up well with that rumor about the Hart films being licensed in late October on that Blu-ray forum site. I think this is a good sign Shout Factory took their favorable position to win the case as an opportunity make a deal with Hart. This is a very exciting development! Here's hoping hell has frozen over, cats and dogs are living together, and Susan has finally come to her senses!

So, take this with a huuuge grain of salt, but forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=322711A poster in this thread (who has posted insider-ish information in the past that has turned out to be true) is claiming a boutique label has finally worked out a deal for Susan Hart's titles and will be released next year. The hinting seems to be pointing at either Shout or Kino. If it does turn out to be Shout, this could be big news for finally getting official release of her episodes. Again, this is vague rumor-y info (and even if it's true, that doesn't mean we're getting the MST3K episodes), but I thought I'd pass it along just as something for this thread. I'll take it with a can of Spam's worth of salt but hopefully this is finally happening! My concern is would Susan even be willing to play ball on the MST versions?

The only power words have is the context in which we use them. People never take the time to actually think about something like that. This is a really good point. It's nice that Joel is being open-minded to such discussions, but I don't think there's anything wrong with her keeping her name the way it is. MST3k is generally a "PC-friendly" show, that's one reason why it's great. I feel like the vast majority of people aren't even aware that gypsy is considered a slur. For example: I'm a huge fan of 60's songwriter Donovan, who has all sorts of folk songs that mention enchanted gypsies and the like... nothing offensive, just romanticized views of traveling people. I wasn't aware it was a 'bad word' until my current girlfriend informed me. I had only previously known that saying "I got gyp'd" was non-PC, I had no idea it went beyond that. It's just a show, we should really just relax.

Never thought I'd see Clowns In the Sky make it to vinyl... what weird times we live in!
I have a home-made "Clowns in the Sky Vol. III" compilation somewhere on a CD-R (with the rest of the missing songs), but I can't remember the last time I bothered putting on any of them. I'd rather just watch the show.

I've seen this DVD listed before! Anyone know if it's the FVI version or just something slapped together using the AIP version and a new video-generated title card? It's the AI-TV version but the title card is even worse than you'd think. Gonna quote myself from the Monster Zero forums: www.scifijapan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21206&p=504562#p504155Excellent! I'm a long time member of the Monster Zero forums, surprised I missed the info! So glad to finally see a pic of the Majestic Home Video cover! "The original mutant turtle"

If they do a stripped-back Rifftrax model, say, 3 episodes a year, I think it could work. Shout has a big library and a lot contacts with smaller and larger rights owners, it'd essentially be self-dealing to get the films. Do what Rifftrax does and have a Kickstarter once every 6-9 months. Enough to supplement small production costs and a small tour or a singular live show broadcast into theaters across the country. Maybe 250k-500k per Kickstarter. Shout picks up the rest of the costs. It'd have to be a complete re-start, I'd think. You def couldn't afford Patton, Felicia or Baron. Maybe not even Jonah, but he might do it for cheap. Build a permanent set and permanent writers room. Take your time to write and shoot episodes correctly. If they can put out 3-4 high quality, old school-type episodes per year on a regular schedule, I would be willing to chip in regularly. Keep the interest in the show alive, and if anyone ever wants to buy the rights to stream or broadcast new episodes you'll have a solid base to do it out of. Soooo much better than the Netflix hell they're stuck in. Held at arm's length in limbo for most of the year, not knowing if you're renewed, not getting paid enough, being forced to compromise your artistic vision to fit into whatever Netflix wants of you. " " I agree with this 100%

I did some reading and apparently there was a VHS released of GAMERA STRIKES BACK in the late 80's/early-90's by Majestic Home Video that has a copyright from Film Ventures, Int. on it! I've never come across it in all my years of rare kaiju releases. Looks like that one might have made it to DVD. I kind of miss the days when bargain basement video labels put out legally dubious titles like this. I would find a bin at a bargain store or someplace that you wouldn't normally see movies for sale and score some vintage tv-movie cheese, or a rare non-Hercules Steve Reeves film. I've seen this DVD listed before! Anyone know if it's the FVI version or just something slapped together using the AIP version and a new video-generated title card?

" " Yeah, I feel like the streaming site universe is about to implode on itself. There's just far too many platforms out there.
I'd be willing to bet they're waiting until the 2019 live tour is over before announcing or starting another season. I can't imagine Netflix is in any hurry to order more episodes, especially considering their business platform RE: cancelling series after a few seasons.

It seems like nothing FVI touched when they were feeding movies to MST3K was completely legal. It's a shame that the only documentary we have on the company is in its first version with the owner who embezzled and was never seen again when the later version seems like an equally wild story. They didn't have the rights to any of it. That's why they worked mostly with non-American films, changed most of the names and added unrelated scenes to the open and closes. They even did this with one of the Gamera movies, releasing Gamera Vs. Barugon as "Gamera Strikes Back" (with scenes from Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster added in the opening and closing). I didn't know they released a Gamera film too! That's hilarious.
