I got mine at Borders as well since no one else in the world has it. It wa marked 59.99 but it only rang up 49.99.
Also, don't call and ask if a certain borders has it. I called one and they said it was "on it's way" and low and behold i went there and it was sitting on the shelf. They only check the computer and not actually look to see if it is in the store. Stupid people...

All.. I ended up purchasing my copy from Borders, last night. Just a head's up, they had it marked on sale for $49.99, same price I would have paid at Best Buy (per their website), had they had a copy. Oh, no one should ever buy it in a store! Way too expensive. Deep Discount DVD has it for $36, including shipping.

Went to Best Buy in Duluth, MN and they said that it was "discontinued" and that they weren't going to carry anymore MST3K. To this, I snorted: "What?! It's a Minnesota-based show! Thanks a lot, now I'm going to have to go get ass-raped at Barnes and Noble." Which is exactly what I did. I got the last copy of Vol. 10 and then was promptly ass-raped.

For you Borders-philes, here's a fairly handy link: www.bordersstores.com/index.jspIf you plug in your local store(s), you can find out before you go if they do/will carry it. Interestingly, all my local Borders (large Metro area) list it as "Order", which means you have to special order it. This is odd, since the two closest have many of the volumes available. It could be that they haven't gotten their orders yet themselves, or ... Borders isn't very confident about their ability to move shelf copies?

Like i said earlier, Borders will probably have it even if it is listed as not being there on the computer. I went to 3 borders and all three had it, 2 of them said they didn't.

from someone who used to work at a Borders...you try walking to every shelf every time the phone rings while helping customers in the store when your store is staffed by about 3 too few people.
especially when the computer system is right about not having things about 97% of the time.
it's wrong more often in the other direction because of shop lifting and such.

I got mine today at Moviestop for $39.99! I haven't watched it yet as it's been a busy day... I think I'll watch Godzilla vs. Megalon now!

MST3K is (despite our best efforts) a niche product at best. Best Buy doesn't care about selection. Not that they should since DVDs and CDs are nothing but a loss leader to them. If it isn't the newest thing that will sell a bunch of copies they don't care.

For the group, though, Is it my ears, or are the new discs a little louder than the last ones? Actually I felt the opposite, it seemed to me that they were quieter than other DVDs.

When I first listened to "Wild Rebels" I thought I might be going deaf. To get as tech-y as I can, I use a Sony receiver. It has 76 volume levels, (higher=louder) and Godzilla vs Megalon sounds fine at 30-33. Wild Rebels needed to be set at 40 to get the same sound level. OTOH, my home-brew dvds (from my own tapes) sound perfectly good at 25, so I think all the Rhinos are quiet. And yeah, it's totally subjective, but I don't have a sound meter.

Mine came from DDD today, I'm quite happy. I've watched a bit of Godzilla vs. Megalon, and overall it looks great! Much better than my DAP-DVD copy of it and infinitely better than my old first-gen EP tape of it. I noticed a couple of flickers that looked suspiciously similar to the sort of video problems seen on a few other releases. But when I freeze-framed on one glitch, I noticed that the silhouettes weren't affected at all, only what was on the screen, so it may just have been from the original movie source. Nothing major, just pointing it out.

How come no one here uses Amazon.com? It sucks that Best Buy doesn't carry them anymore. They used to have a really cool selection of horror DVDs too but all they have now is the crappy run of the mill hollywood stuff. I don't go there anymore.
