How come no one here uses Amazon.com? Cuz DDD is cheaper. Actually, I was shocked to find that this isn't always the case. There have been a few instances where Amazon was cheaper but, yes, DDD is often much cheaper. And their free shipping is a huge plus, too.

And Amazon ships for free if you buy $25 or more of stuff.

I've watched Godzilla vs. Megalon, the photo gallery (whoa, the KTMA set was sooo small), Swamp Diamonds, the Poopie reel, and am halfway through "Teenage Strangler."
I have to say, this is quite possibly the best MST3K DVD set Rhino has put out. The films have all been fantastic so far and the extras are really neat.

Mine came from DDD today, I'm quite happy. I've watched a bit of Godzilla vs. Megalon, and overall it looks great! Much better than my DAP-DVD copy of it and infinitely better than my old first-gen EP tape of it. I noticed a couple of flickers that looked suspiciously similar to the sort of video problems seen on a few other releases. But when I freeze-framed on one glitch, I noticed that the silhouettes weren't affected at all, only what was on the screen, so it may just have been from the original movie source. Nothing major, just pointing it out. I too noticed this. It has nothing to do with Rhino's mastering, or the source tape. It's the TV video master BBI used for the movie (which in turn was sourced from an awful, dirty and beat-up 16mm panNscan print). The show quality is awesome though.

I suspected that might be the case, I just never had a good enough source of this episode to really notice the defects before. Watched Teenage Strangler (for the first time in more than 10 years!) and the Poopie excerpt, both were great. These last two Rhino releases have been great overall, let's hope this trend continues!

Just got mine last night. Just finished watching Teenage Strangler for the first time. LOVE IT.
As far as the DVD set goes, while I'm disappointed they whittled away at Poopie II, someone must be at least a little more knowledgeable about the show, since Godzilla v. Megalon has an extra chapter RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING of the Jet Jaguar fight song.
Oh, and the volume is a little low.

My god, I don't know if I've ever laughed as hard as whenever Mikey is on screen in Teenage Stragler! AMAZING!

Ordered it from Amazon two days ago, but it didn't ship until today (those bastards, I asked for one-day shipping!), so it probably won't be here until Tuesday. Which means that my marathon is back on hiatus...(sigh)...

I do wish there could have been some titles with the pics in the photo gallery...or even just dates. Yeah, you can tell when some pics were taken because of who is or isn't in them but... Otherwise, it's a wonderful, wonderful set!!!

The only reason for pics, is to put repeaters in. Effort to stop copying.

I've watched everything in the set and I think I can say now that it is definetely the best MST3K DVD set so far.
I also think that it's a great set to introduce people to MST3K. This beacuse of the quality of all four episodes, containing two shorts, having a good amount of extras, and the fact that all four episodes are spread out over the show's run giving new viewers a great sampler of the entire series.
