My Godzilla DVD had 2 noticeable quick glitches but other than that everything in the set was good. The glitches were quick pixelation that lasten under a second, nothing serious. Anyone else have this too?

I've watched everything in the set and I think I can say now that it is definetely the best MST3K DVD set so far. And it only took them ten tries to get it right. My Godzilla DVD had 2 noticeable quick glitches but other than that everything in the set was good. The glitches were quick pixelation that lasten under a second, nothing serious. Anyone else have this too? Are you sure they're glitches and not just an anomaly? Every once in awhile I see glitches in my DVDs and I rerun it and it isn't there the second time. It's just the DVD player.

Anyone else have this too? Sounds like what I encountered a few pages back. It appears to be a glitch in the film source that MST used, as the pixelation did not affect the silhouettes.

Anyone else have this too? Same here. It looked like the kind of blocks you got back in the old day old satellite tv when the signal would break up for a second. IIRC it occurs at exactly 1:16 on Godzilla. And, for the record, it affects the entire picture, not just the movie. I haven't A/B'ed this with my DAP DVD of this episode, but I'm 99.99999% sure nothing like that happened there. If, as someone mentioned somewhere, they used digital masters for MST3K, this would probably be consistent with a slightly damaged digital master from 1990.

IIRC it occurs at exactly 1:16 on Godzilla To be more specific, it's at 01:15:59 (00:01:16 is fine). It's not an MPEG-2 glitch as on a damaged DVD. I agree that it looks like the master tape is decaying. It's only 9 rainbow-dotted frames with a slight *skitch* sound. Nothing too bad. Though, considering this and 603 -- I worry about BBI's tape archives.

There seems to be glitches on every ep from season 1-6 that Rhino has released.

At least these aren't big glitches so it doesn't really bother me. At least it's not like The Dead Talk Back.

(Coming from the world of nth generation VHS dubs, I'm still wowed but seeing this stuff with any kind of clarity at all.) I, too am a little concerned about the archives though. I've read a lot about digital audio masters from as recently as the mid 90s becoming unplayable already, so I just hope BBI is transfering these old seasons to a more stable format.

Well all in all this was a good year for Rhino. For there is no mistakes on either volume 9 and 10, each set had some pretty decent extras, and acourse the episodes.
