Oh boy. That was kind of a mess. They tried to get every main character into the episode again, and when they do that it just doesn't flow very well.
Samuel is looking more and more like a bad guy, which is fine. And I'm glad Matt is back to normal, even if Sylar is on the loose in Nathan (or is it Peter? Hm.)
Things are kind of coming together, but I hope they don't lost focus down the stretch.

Ugh, an episode where different people get together for different Thanksgiving dinners. I mean, Angela having two of her man servants bring dinner (in under a minute flat) for her and Peter and "Nathan?" That's getting, well, stupid.
The best part of this week was Hiro standing up to Samuel until, well, until that weird guy did something to Hiro's brain. Not sure where that's heading. Oh, and Sylar's brief return was awesome, but of course Nathan had to take back over. Oh well. Here's hoping next week is better.

I may be the last person on the planet watching this show Anyway, this week was better. Nice to see some things that happen at the carnival. Doyle made an appearance (he does seem perfect for a sideshow), which was cool. And Peter against a powerless Sylar wasn't bad. But, is Nathan officially dead now? Did he "give up," so to speak, when he let go of Peter's hand and fell to the ground? Did his changing back into Sylar before he hit "save" him again? That thing is a mess. Claire jumping on board the carnival was a little sudden, too, but I think she may have nailed it when she told Gretchen about Doyle: "He kidnapped me once and tried to make my mom shoot me. But I got over it." Nice explanation, writers I'd like to know if this show is done after this year. I'd like to have a sense on if they're leading up to one last big hurrah.

When Gretchen is driving off at the end, and you see the carnival disappearing in her rear-view mirror, who was that who was dead in the pick-up truck? I looked away for a minute and didn't quite catch the face. Was it Doyle? If so, why? I missed something. (And if not, who was it?)

It was hard to see, but I thought it was the guy who beat up Samuel and cut Claire. Samuel didn't "turn the other cheek," so to speak. I guess it could have been Doyle, though, because it wasn't very clear.
And to whom was Samuel referring when he said it wasn't Claire he was after. The way that last shot looks he could have been talking about Gretchen, but that doesn't make much sense.

It was hard to see, but I thought it was the guy who beat up Samuel and cut Claire. Oh, yeah. Probably. I don't know who Samuel meant he was really after. Maybe some kind of revenge against Noah? (But then, he could just kill him, right?). So I guess we'll find out.

Two hour mid-season premiere was on Monday night. I was looking forward to it but, man, was that boring. The longest back-to-back Heroes episodes I can remember. Even a confrontation between Sylar and Samuel couldn't really save it.
I just don't know what to do about this show. I want to like it, but man, tighten it up! I will give it this, though: Sylar and Samuel need more scenes of dialog together.

Is anything interesting ever going to happen on this show again? Sylar is becoming a bore, and I REALLY wish they'd stop focusing so much on Claire.

Well, it's over. Actually, it's been over for a few weeks now and I'm just getting used to it not being on anymore. Hard to say for sure, but it seems pretty unlikely that NBC will renew it, and in reality that's fine. I mean, it sounds like they only had about 4.5 million people watching what amounted to be the series finale.
A few closing thoughts on the series.
• Season one was really exceptional. As in "Lost at its best moments" good. As I've said before, it stumbled toward the end of that season and never recovered, but if you were hooked by an episode like Company Man, you were hooked until the end.
• Sylar was best as the bad guy. And they kept him around too long, though it's hard to complain when he managed to keep stealing scenes left and right.
• The latest finale was actually not that bad, all things considered. I just watched it a second time so a friend could catch up, and I was surprised that I actually liked where they were taking it. Claire's final moments of the show were a nice callback to the very first episode, even though her going splat in front of the ferris wheel looked a little hokey.
• I have another friend who just started watching Heroes on Netflix instant, or whatever that is. He's thrilled – says it's as good as Lost. Now, I don't want to discourage or taint him, but I want to tell him to not get his hopes up too high after the first season.
• They should have done whatever they could to keep Bryan Fuller on board after the first season. Even his brief return recently gave us the best episodes of the series since that first season.
So, there it is. My thoughts on the end of Heroes. There have been worse runs on television, and I liked the times I shared this show with my TV-watching buddies. It was worth it.

"Heroes Reborn"? (Coming to NBC in 2015 as a 13 episode miniseries).
Oh, I don't know...

I'll check it out. I have to admit, hearing that music got me feeling nostalgic as hell.

You know, I don't even remember half the things that happened on this show. Especially toward the end. I read through my own comments and mmmm, nope, not a clue.
