Gorgo? Yes! I never thought it would happen! Shout really are the best!

I hope the 512/13 discs will be able to be purchased separately. I love Shout! but, man, their Canada shipping costs way too much.

As great as it is to have Gorgo... I'm more excited to finally have Day the Earth Froze on DVD.

Good set. I'm always in for some season 1 and I am excited about Gorgo and Leech Woman. Here's my thing though, and it may sound like blasphemy, I never cared for the host segments of The Day the Earth Froze, they just do not do anything for me riffing is great, though. So we're probably looking at a late November/early December release , right? Unless I get an influx of cash I will put this on my Christmas list.

Do we know yet if the bonus episodes are packed in to every set, or if it is another one of Shout's pre-order incentives?

I like this set. I'm glad they are putting some season 1 shows. I haven't seen The Day The Earth Froze in ages, so it will be nice to see it again.

Season 1 might actually end up being the first one they finish...there are only two unreleased episodes from that season and they are both owned by Warner. Might finally get a whole season done.

Okay set. Moon Zero Two is fun (that theme song). The Day the Earth Froze is beautiful. The Leech Woman is pretty good, just not fantastic. And then there's Gorgo... I'm very excited to see four episodes that I've never ever seen! Especially the rare and elusive Gorgo. It's a snoozefest. Not to be a buzzkill or anything. It's a loooong wait for the monster-on-city action and the riffing isn't exactly memorable. It does contain a great callback to another season 9 episode, though. Hercules and the Captive Women, Hercules, Invasion of the Neptune Men, The Pumaman, Quest of the Delta Knights, Track of the Moon Beast, Diabolik ^ These are on my wish list as well, along with High School Big Shot*, The Human Duplicators*, Colossus and the Headhunters*, Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell, The Incredible Melting Man, Riding with Death, Horror of Party Beach & much of season zero. *Because I haven't seen them.

High School Big Shot is in the public domain so it shouldn't be long until it shows up on a volume.

This is one of the first times I'm not really "thrilled" over a set, but of course I'll buy it anwyway. Gorgo has never been a favorite, and Leech Woman is just OK. TDTEF is the best on the set, and I am glad to be getting that one as it rounds-out the Russo-Finnish installments on DVD. Never seen Moon Zero Two, but Season 1 eps are more of historical curiosity for me than anything else. Happy to have them in the collection, but so far none of the S1 eps have impressed me as being anything above "meh". With the exception of Robot Monster, I don't think I've ever had the desire to watch a S1 episode more than once.

Looks like the MST3K Vol XXVIII Well be in another tin. Here's what was in the announcement e-mail from that TV shows on DVD site: The crew at the Satellite of Love celebrate their MST3K's silver jubilee with a silver-ish (in reality, tin, but who's keeping score?) box set featuring four previously unreleased episodes, plus tons of brand-new special features and a bonus DVD featuring two back-to-back historic episodes that have been out of print for years: Mitchell (Joel's last episode as host) and The Brain That Wouldn't Die (Mike's first episode as host).
With Volume XXVII in stores as of last week, Shout! Factory has - as usual - wasted no time getting things in order to launch the next DVD set in the show's run. And a new pre-order listing at DVDEmpire.com (see button link below) shows that the next item will be a special package labeled as Mystery Science Theater 3000 - XXVIII: 25th Anniversary Edition: Collector's Tin. Priced at $64.99 SRP, this will be in stores on November 19th. It will come with the usual 4 DVDs, with one episode each...
Episode #111 - Moon Zero Two Episode #422 - the Day the Earth Froze (with short Here Comes the Circus) Episode #802 - The Leech Woman Episode #909 - Gorgo
...but it will also come with a special bonus 5th DVD this time, with the two episodes on it which were named in the studio description quoted at the top of this story: Mitchell (Episode #512) and The Brain That Wouldn't Die (Episode #513).
Here's the package cover:

So wait the bonus DVD isn't a Shout! exclusive? Good. I wonder what they mean by "tons of bonus features." Like, above the normal quantity? Hope so.

I actually enjoyed Gorgo quite a bit, got many laughs out of it. DTEF is one of the greats, Leech Woman... that one depends on my mood. Sometimes it clicks, sometimes I sit silently through it. Moon, Zero, Two isn't a riot, but it has its moments and the movie is not too painful.
So I have no complaints.
I wonder if the Mitchell/Brain disc will have anything new in the way of extras?

I wonder if the Mitchell disc will have anything new in the way of extras? Ideally Joe Don Baker being forced to watch the film and provide commentary at gunpoint. Love "Leech Woman" (I seem to recall that's one of Mike's faves as well). "Nipple...I mean, Hello!"
