A person’s musical preference can tell you a lot about them. It seems to me that sometime early in High School, people tend to conform (whether they know it or not) to fit in with a certain group of people. As people age, our sense of individualism grows, and our tastes change and expand. Our musical preferences often seem to change with us, sometime subtle, sometimes dramatically. While from a sociological stand point you might not be able to tell one type of personality from another just based on the music they listen to, I think that you may be able to see how the person views themselves.
So what type of music is playing on the soundtrack of your life and why? Why is music so important to people in helping to define who they are?
(Sorry if I left your music type out, I could only use 8 types of music, so I tried to pick the ones that I thought would be the most popular.)

Sorry MonsterX I can't vote. I am of the "classic rock" era but the term includes too much stuff I don't like.

I love rock too. It's better than most current rock.

Isn't skittle a candy? Skiffle perhaps? Oh right. Skiffle is what I meant to say. nightfal wannabe Go to hell, foul tempter of evil. Btw, skiffle was (for those who don't know) before rock n roll, like The Everly Brothers n stuff.

Not exactly. It was a British musical trend that was popular before The Beatles. Kind of folk like I think. nightfal wannabe? I wish.

Well I went through my Beatles phase and learned from them the term Skiffle. From what they told me it was the Everly Brothers type music, with a couple guitars, a stick with a string tied from it to a bucket, and an old washer (think Far And Away: plunge and scrub) and a spoon.

What you all dub as "classic rock" is about the only stuff that I can listen to anymore. There's not much new music that I can actually stand listening to anymore. I like jazz and blues as well, but, I still dig my rock.

I like pretty much everything except country and heavy metal. Mom was always forcing me to listen to country. She thought Willie Nelson was the sexiest man alive.

OK, I just never thought of the Everly Brothers as skiffle.
