I like the fact that Baron and Hampton are not trying to imitate Kevin and Trace/Bill, but are doing their own version of Servo and Crow, just like when Kevin and Bill took on the characters. It's one thing to remove one host and replace them with another. It's easier to accept the differences because it is a different character. Replacing an existing character with another actor is much more difficult because there will always be comparisons made to the original. I remember when Bill first replaced Trace. Some people hated him as crow. I could not imagine trying to take over Servo after Mr. Murphy. Talk about owning the character. Sure, because of the way shows are made now they have not had months throughout the season to grow into the roll, but the show simply isn't going to be made the way it was.
All I know is I've watched two episodes and have enjoyed them both. I'm not expecting it to be exactly the same, and frankly am glad it isn't.
*Crap, Meant to post this in the general thread.

Two episodes in this is my take.
While Rifftrax and The Film Crew and ICWXP and Cinematic Titanic are all great. They weren't MST3K
What else can I say...This is Mystery Science Theater 3000

One nice thing about kickstarter helping fund the whole season is the fact that we will get a whole season. I am so tired of watching shows getting canceled after only one or two episodes. I honestly wont start a new show anymore til it finishes a season for that very reason.

Planned on trying to go one a week, but yesterday I watched 1101 about 2 1/2 times throughout the day. It just feels so good and makes me smile. Will probably binge some at first. Then slow down as the weeks progress. Or I'll be done by Monday.

Don't see the problem with making them available all at once. You can watch then at whatever pace you prefer. Nobody is forcing them to be watched all at once.

It is common for netflix originals to be copied and torrented from the netflix stream. Hopefully when MST3K torrents appear they will be sourced from the streaming and not from the backer copies. But I bet the backer copies will be easier for them to work with. The people that put out torrents probably won't even need to be backers to get access the digital releases.

One thing that could happen would to have a thread here that works kind of like a book club. Once a week a episode is chosen, either new or old, and then discussed the following week here.

The Chelsea Handler show is weekly. Shows like Daredevil and House of Cards are really just long movies split up. Much more bingeable. The new eps might have a linear story in the host segments (like seasons 8-10), but the movies are the core of each episode, and I can't imagine any cliff hangers that would be so compelling that the next episode must be watched immediately.
Of course if they are available I could see watching a couple if the mood struck me, but I would probably be more apt to rewatch episodes and save the unwatched ones. Kind of like giving myself a gift every now and then.
