I think you might be looking too much into it. Baron Vaughn has a lot of other projects going on that are arguably more mainstream than MST3K, so the producers of the show might have not thought to include it. His Twitter background is the many moods of Tom Servo. Of course, I might be reading too much into that.

I haven't had a chance to listen to it myself, but on the latest Nerdist Podcast, Jonah says the movies have been secured and they have started writing.

If only Giant Gila Monster was on it. That will probably be on the Volume 10 rerelease next year.

Shout has already rereleased those titles as Shout Select Singles, or, in the case of Manos, a Special Edition.

Perhaps I'm looking too much into this, but comparing just how much more money this campaign is raising compared to the other card sets he's funded through Kickstarter, it kinda shows that MST3K is a property that has some fans that have been starving for merchandise. Before the Shout! acquisition, how much stuff was made after the show was cancelled apart from the stuff promoting the ill conceived "bots are back" era? Then again, I'm probably putting too much thought into the actions of 400 backers.

I hope season 12 features 'Nukie'. I watched that movie once... What happened afterwards I can't really remember... Red Letter Media can send them one of their copies.

Do you know if that message was to all backers or just at certain levels? It was for backers who got the Mystery Gift. There was an error when the MST3K team ordered them and they are trying to correct the situation.

Does the set list who owns the rights to the movies?

You have triggered my curiosity. Which is your favorite and which is your least favorite? Prince of Space is the episode I refuse to live without. Killer Shrews, while not my least favorite, bores the hell out of me. Hilariously, I plan on getting this set so I can have a 'fixed' copy of The Killer Shrews since all I have is the Rhino edition that cut off the opening. I'm buying it to get more Killer Shrews.

Anyone have links to pictures of the box set and VHS tape?

The Tom Serv-Crow was not cancelled due to low sales. It was never meant to be sold at general retail for reasons that some people here correctly guessed. I myself do not have this item, but people are posting it on Facebook since they have now shipped.

Maybe the reason why the host segments from 212 has nothing to do with Toho. Maybe Shout! Factory didn't want to be crushed by the hammer of Orville Redenbacher.

And again, the Ballyhoo doc about the final episode revealed new info to me as well... Who do they interview from the show for that one?

If I'm remembering correctly, the extras weren't officially revealed until after the Shout! preorders were shipped for one of the last two volumes.

I've kept multiple backups of my S-VHS recording of 208 for that very reason. Ironically, it was one of the more difficult tapes for me to transfer to DVD as there was a pesky tape dropout that kept moving around before finally flaking off. The quality of tape stock in the 90's really took a nose dive at some point. I'd gladly offer my copy to Shout for a Dr. Who level restoration of 208 if they were willing to do such a thing. I'm sure my friend will happily copy the disc I sent them. I'm going to end up the video version of a hoarder someday, I just know it! Why would they remove the Godzilla sound effect from the Mike as Gamera skit? Is Toho that lawsuit happy? The big G is still in the opening of the show. Obviously I can't account for Godzilla's inclusion in the credits, but I do know that Pixar wanted to use Godzilla's roar in Monster's Inc., but they weren't granted permission by Toho. This is from the director's commentary on the DVD release.
