Yeah, they solved my question about how they would get the group to keep taking Spanish. I guess they won't have to! Perfect. Chang should be able to roam more territory, anyway. I'm guessing we'll get good stuff from him. I'm ready for a band with an Asian keytar player Last week's episode was pretty good, a nice return to not-as-trippy. Chang, of course, shines, but there were other highlights. For some reason, I love how Britta covers up her eyes at the study table. It just made me laugh. Good calls, sol. Troy pocketing the chalk was hilarious. And Pierce, that got a lot of laughs with the group I was with. Season finale this week!

who saw it? who saw it? i can't be the only one here!
(spoilers)
wow. did not see britta turning all possessive and competitive with slater over jeff. not sure i liked it much, either. i liked it better when they were awkward and short with each other. however, i do NOT like slater. so i'm conflicted. but man, for someone like britta (like i really know her - like they are really real people) to just say the dreaded three words in a mic at a dance was just so out of character for her. and for jeff to mumble "i don't know" and make a run for it at least promises the two of them won't be getting back together again anytime soon.
not to mention what happened with he and annie outside the dance. i'm hoping that was just a in-the-moment kind of thing - i am not sure i'd like those two together. besides jeff, annie has grown the most over the first season, IMO.
the funniest part for me was watching troy walk around the dance all night, eating that giant cookie. i loved how in each scene you would see him, the cookie would be a little smaller.
and professor duncan's back! he was a hilarious drunk. and wasn't it awesome for chang to finally punch the hell out of him? i'm so glad chang is a student now.
funniest line: am i black boobs?

I can't believe nobody has taken this cookie I didn't mind the Annie thing at the end because they seemed to playing off early suggestions, such as in the debate episode. Still, I agree. I really can't say I feel any chemistry between Jeff and any of them, but whatever. Hopefully they don't do any weird love quadrangle for too long, unless they do it well, and they've surprised me before. Did Chang mention something about finding a loophole? Funny little Lost reference, if that's what it was. I wonder how much of this episode was written before they knew they were going to be renewed. A few of the recent episodes could have passed for hilarious, open-ended possibilities going into next season, as solgroupie pointed out. Did they note all the minor characters and leave us hanging on a three-way battle for Jeff because they weren't sure they were coming back or is that part of the joke? In the end, I really don't care, because I liked it. And Troy should have some good stories after break. Pierce said he need to get fitted for a uniform

I'm ready, though I hope they keep whatever Betty White is going to be doing on the show fresh. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy her, but she was starting to suffer from overexposure late in the television season last year. Like I said, I like her, but I don't need to see her every week in something new.

hey, mod city, what did you think of betty white in the premiere last night? i thought they might have used her more, but the little she was in it was funny - or least i thought it was. i have been looking forward to a second season of community. if they can keep it up, it should be another great season.

I thought she was just right for the premiere, actually. The whole bit at the end, with her making a more powerful weapon from the ones in the box, and then challenging Jeff to defend himself using "respect" was one of the high points of the evening for me. I like her as a bit of a darker, broodier character than the goofy, dirty-mouthed crazy grandma type.
Overall, I thought it was outstanding. The meltdown scene where everyone starts yelling at each other and Annie slaps Jeff had some great timing. Troy's twittering of Pierce's sayings was funny. And poor Annie. I swear, Alison Brie can melt me. What a cutie.
Oh, and Chang was pretty good, too, though I thought the ending went a little far. It will be interesting to see if they can keep Chang as strong a character now that he's no longer a teacher. He could get into some good scraps with White's character. There are a few different ways it could go.
Thrilled it's back. Bring on Thursday nights!

It's up on hulu, where I just watched it.
I'm glad it's back. I like that they just came out and dealt with all the romance fall-out right away in this episode, so they can move on with the rest of the season. My favorite part was the opening montage of their bedrooms. Especially Pierce's with the circular waterbed and the huge '80s-era Chevy Case portrait over the bed.

My DVR was still set up from last season. Please excuse my bad language. I've censored myself.

Last night's was well-done, too. We got to see a little of Jeff's lawyer side. I guess I didn't really pick up on this before, but he really doesn't seem like he was an ambulance chaser or anything. He was a serious lawyer. Drew Carey and Rob Corddry were pretty cool, too.
Wish we could have seen more Chang break dancing, but you can't have it all every week. Good stuff.

drew carey was great - the weird thing with his hand was a little..weird. but still funny. the best part was annie, troy and abed trying to get that lawyer's email to prove to jeff he was a jerk. and why is annie going to NA? did i miss something?
oh, wait! chang's little fantasy about being a member of the study group! THAT may have been my favorite part.
