Also as mentioned in that quote, there is a riff cut off from the shorts disc for "Home Economics Story" (I don't recall which collection off the top of my head), it cuts out a riff by Tom, when the teachers holding up something, Servo says something about snot and mucus. Right, he goes "This is phlegm. This is mucus." The "this is mucus" line is cut, because it immediately goes to break, and the first line said after the break is also by Servo. It was too close to keep without keeping the bumper, which they didn't do for the Shorts (nor much of the Rhinos). Also, can someone confirm that MST3K was recorded in mono until the Sci-Fi episodes? If so, I'd like to check if the appropriate DVD releases were in proper stereo. The show went officially stereo with 812, "The Incredible Strange Creatures..." (or was it 813? It's one or the other). But with 901, it became better stereo (to the point that episode originally aired with screwed up echo-chamber sounding theater audio because they were still getting the hang of the new mixing capabilities).

Does anyone know what the stinger for the Atomic Brain is? I know it's a scream but there are a lot of screams in that movie. While everyone hates Rhino for not having a stinger in their version, no one on the internet seems to be able to upload a copy with the stinger. It's the goofy one where the Hispanic girl screams at us and closes her mouth suddenly. Mike then says, "That's spanish for AHHHH!"

...That's also not to mention other ephemera like the little title cards that used to air ("Mystery Science Theater episode #XXX, reel one!"), or the "Turn down your lights...where applicable." Did any of those ever get cut out? None of the number/reel slates ever made it onto any of the official releases, which is a shame, since they were included on all broadcasts of episodes 404-519 during the CC era. I know it's been said we "weren't supposed to see them", but we did, even in reruns, and just those episodes, repeatedly. I know my entire knowledge of tv episode numbers came from them, and when they aired, you always knew what the episode was right off the bat, in the days before digital programming guides. Anyway, back to the original topic, don't forget the master tape faults in "The Dead Talk Back".

According to TCM's schedule GREEN SLIME is NOT letterboxed. There's never been a letterboxed release in the U.S. There was a Japanese language widescreen release (interesting to note that the Japanese version is about 7 minutes shorter than the U.S.). That said, widescreen or not, GS is one great movie. Now it appears the original uncut GS is available officially in the US in widescreen: www.wbshop.com/Green-Slime-The/1000180218,default,pd.html?cgid=WACULT

I just realized this would clearly be a "Leave the Bronx"-esque post.

Moment By Moment was considered according to Agony Booth. I don't think it was considered, so much as they wanted to do it in general.

I know that Death of a Ninja 1 and 2 were originally listed in the Life Survival Kits as episodes instead of Master Ninja 1 and 2, but that was maybe just a typo. Sounds like it (though you never know what Film Ventures International was up to, maybe that was the name they were originally gonna release those compliations as?). Reminds me of the first KTMA list I saw way back in 95, before ACEG straightened everyone out. They had a different Thunderbirds movie listed ("Thunderbirds in Outer Space" which features the episodes "Sun Probe" and "Ricochet") and instead of "Cosmic Princess" they instead had Space: 1999's "Destination Moonbase-Alpha". And a movie called "The Chill Factor" in there, as well for the near end of the run.

Joel mentioned in an interview back in 89 they wanted to do "Mars Needs Women" for a possible season 2 of KTMA MST.
Most famously, the FVI version of "Charro" was originally slotted between Beatniks and Fire Maidens for season 4 (would've aired on Turkey Day, most likely!)
Originally for 624 was "Master Ninja III" made up of Master eps "Fat Tuesday" and "Jugger-naut".
Mike mentioned they were looking at "Day of the Triffids" during a pre-Season 8 TV Guide article.
Mike mentioned in the Masked Reviewer interview they tried to get "Baffled" at some point.
"From Hell It Came" was supposedly passed over for "Deathstalker" due to rights problems.
Kevin Murphy mentioned "The Land Unknown" in an online chat during the Sci-Fi era as a movie they were gonna do back in season 8, but didn't.
In the category of "movies they were offered but refused", there's "Child Bride" and "Terror of Tiny Town".
Anyone know of any others?

I seem to recall "Hercules Unchained" had the "waters of forgetfulness" host segment happening well before the movie had Herc even encounter them.
And shouldn't Willy the Waffle count? They were premature by about 8 years! Same with Gerry & Sylvia predating "The Mole People", and the "Beast of Yucca Flats" reference in 513 (at least the "Marooned" ref in "Rocketship X-M" isn't that out of place in hindsight).

I agree. She looks about as enthused as everyone in the R.E.M. music video "Pop Star 89".

I remember answering to a similar thread a few years back with the Richard Burton impression segment from Gamera vs. Guiron, and I stand by it. It just goes on forever which I believe was admitted to in the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide and I gotta say, as a 19 year old, I can't especially appreciate the reference. "Oh, you laughed YOUR ASS OFF!"

Though, I will say, I flinch everytime I see Joel's bare legs in Mitchell. Any jumpsuit that isn't cutoffs gets my vote. I wonder what the story was with Joel chopping his maroon jumpsuit off at the knees. They were there prior to "Tormented". Was he visiting the pool a lot? Did he like Kevin and Trace to scratch his legs when he had an itch? Did they have a falling out with Jim and leave the show before Joel?
