Yeah good reference to White Album, i think the season was indeed more off the wall out there because by then they didn't feel obligated to do scifi movies and just went with whatever.

Movie they did. Every other one, Deathstalker 3 or Cave Dwellers had attempts, however hamfisted or halfassed, of trying to make something cool. Ator flying into the castle, the batman hideout, Deathstalker's undead minions, but Quest of the Delta Knights has just a cool title. The movie has NO cool moments, it's just talking ll the time… which i guess is still rather OK for that if you're into a talky swords and sorcery flick.

This was gathered from this board in one of the years from some more knowledgable ones who were trying to deduce who did what on the show, the only other one could be Mary Jo Pehl who according to the ACEG was brought in season 4 to give a more of a woman side to the segments, and there is quite a bit of mention of Chaplin (who also coincidentally wrote the lionshare of the ACEG lol) of her throughout in their bickering interactions, but by scifi era she was already in a starring role. Chaplin always , aside from the cameos, was pretty much a writer so it seems they placed him in charge wholesale with the host segments again… and i bet he spent a loooong time perfecting them.

It is my understanding that he was in charge of writing the dialogue of the host segments if so big hat off to this chap (lol) for this, yes the riffs are what matter but it is those host segments that are a necessary… necessity. That style of whimsical interacting is unmatched and probably still underrated in its appeal… so if all the accumulated host segments amounts to the mind of Paul Chaplin, then wow.

Wow good thread, ok you take all of those but just leave me from Incredibly Strange Creatures one of the dancer girls, "cat woman at home" is … just… the ultimate for me. I would go to the ends of the earth for her. LOL
The hat wearing agent gal from Castle of Fu Manchu. My gosh Jess Franco knew how to pick them. Then there is the Vampiress from Sampson vs. the vampire women who goes out to do the dirty deeds.

Yeah the others always give these wacky answers like Trace saying Manos or Kevin with Werewolf so Mike's choices are definitely something else.

Yeah I don't like the way The Rebel Set portrayed beatniks, that was nothing more than a stereotypical, Hollywood caricature. I like the real beatniks, those are my idols. People like Eddy Crane, his main squeeze Iris, and his partner in crime Moon, those are the real Beatniks. Singing in diners, demanding Ham Sandwiches from Charley(Gus), and shooting fat barkeeps. That is the kind of behavior I expect out of a real Beatnik, not that Hollywood nonsense from Rebel Set. Wasn't it alluded to somewhere that "Rebel Set" has actual Beatniks while the movie "Beatniks" has something entirely different?

I meant Mike has a fascination with movies that have a strong central female figure on a road to ambition.

So he professed his love of these mst3k episodes if he had to pick his faves each on separately in different interviews through the years. Hmmm does anyone see a pattern emerging?

This is the only movie i distinctly remember viewing at 4 am because i could not go to sleep, the insanity of the movie in an actual legitimate good way of the country home stronghold…. and the riffing was on point.
